Production MFP
Sharp enters the production arena with a choice of black & white production solutions. Formerly better known for its office solutions, the MX-M850, MX-M950 and MX-M1100 are based on a completely new developed platform, designed specifically for the light production market. The lower speed solution will be a good choice for upgrading speed and capacity in the high-end office environments, whilst the MX-M1100, with a speed of 110 ppm, is clearly aspiring more towards the commercial print service provider market. The optimum volume ranges depend on the model type and sit comfortably in ranges common for many black & white cut-sheet users.
The higher maximum monthly volume of 500,000 impressions a month allows for sufficient breathing space, as peaks in the workload require. All new models share the same engine, long life drums, a developer cooling system, high capacity toner cartridges and easy access to maintenance parts. A multi-feed detection at the 2 higher speed model systems assures fewer mis-feeds.Today no printer or copier is a standalone device and connectivity and finishing are essential parts of an installation. The new MX light production devices have a choice of print controllers – a Sharp controller for networked printing in the office, and for more demanding environments an EFI Fiery controller will be available later in the year and should be the controller of choice for graphic arts users. All devices offer large paper capacity up to SRA3 and 300 gsm,which as a combination, is one of the best in this product class. There is a range of finishing options available including stapler and saddle stitch, hole punch, inserter and Z-fold. The MX-M850, MX-M950 and the MX-M1100 round off Sharp’s black & white portfolio at the production end of the range.
